150 years ago, in 1873, a great model in the history of handguns was manufactured. The Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is a gun that symbolizes America's western pioneering era. Although production has been discontinued and specifications have changed several times, the 45 Long Colt caliber is nicknamed "Peace Maker" and is a long-lived gun that is currently sold by Colt to the private sector. is.
The model from the time when production resumed in 1956 to 1974 after production was temporarily discontinued during World War II is called the second generation. Compared to the earliest First Generation black powder model, the base pin for fixing the cylinder is fixed with a single screw from the front of the frame in the First Generation, whereas it is fixed with screws and nuts from the left and right sides of the frame. There are also differences in appearance, such as being fixed and the ejector rod head being circular and half-moon shaped.
The second generation model mentioned above, which was easy to obtain, was mainly used in post-war Western movies. Western movies became hits, and television westerns were also actively produced. It was imported and aired in Japan and became a sensation.
In recent years, characters that use SAA have appeared in TV games, the main character has used custom SAA in movies starring action stars, and open-world action games with Western themes have become a hit, making it once again attracting attention. Masu.
This SAA was the first of Tanaka's airsoft guns and PEGASAS system revolvers, which were released in 1999 and continue to this day. At the time, revolver-type airsoft guns were mainly cart-type gas guns, but the Pegasus system moved the gas tank and magazine mechanism into the cylinder and consolidated it, creating a realistic internal structure that allowed for delicate trigger feel that could not be achieved with conventional cart-type gas guns. I succeeded in reproducing the ring.
In 2005, it underwent a minor change as a detachable cylinder model, and like a real gun, the cylinder is now removable, making it more realistic and easier to maintain by making it easier to charge gas.
With the spread of this Pegasus-style SAA, there are ``cowboy shooting'' (Western-style shooting matches) using airsoft guns and ``fast draw'' (time trial shooting using SAA to compete to see how quickly the gun can be pulled out of the holster and shot). ) and other competitions will develop.
Among them, problems with the Pegasus-style SAA were also exposed. In the above-mentioned competitions, the stress placed on various parts of the gun is unimaginable for normal airsoft guns, such as speed-based extraction and double-handed shooting, so each user had to customize the gun.
As we received requests for repairs, it became clear that the SAA gun was used more heavily than other automatic pistols and double-action revolvers.
From around 2018, in order to respond to this, a refinement plan for SAA will be launched within the company. It was designed based on the development concept of ``highly durable, more realistic, and with performance that can be used in survival games and fast draw''.
The cylinder fixation, which was a concern when using a detachable cylinder, was changed to a system in which the base pin penetrates like in a real gun, and the system was named "PEGASAS II", in which the valve inside the cylinder is struck through the base pin. We have adopted a new system. (Patented) It is also equipped with a variable HOP mechanism so that it can be used in survival games. In addition, we have adopted an inner magazine system like other Pegasus models to reduce the number of bullets that can be loaded, which is a problem with revolvers. Furthermore, it is possible to reserve 10 shots in the ejector tube, making it possible to fire a total of 25 shots. In addition, cushion parts and reinforcement parts were added to the internally stressed parts, and each part was made more realistic.
Also, with consideration for existing users, some parts (hammer, trigger, bolt, backstrap, grip, etc.) are designed to be used with detachable cylinder models.
The long-awaited 7-½ inch heavy weight model of the PEGASA Ⅱ series is now available. The original ABS model was so heavy that it could be mistaken for a heavy weight model, but now it's even heavier.
Moreover, the fact that it is made of heavy weight resin makes blueing possible cannot be overlooked.
SAA's custom heavy weight model expands in width with the addition of the popular 7-½ inch.
