High-spec military pistol pursued by professionals

High-performance handgun P226 rail used by military and police organizations around the world. In addition to its bold appearance, such as the NAVY type slide that supports high-loading bullets with realistic engravings and the under-rail integrated rail frame that can be equipped with various options, it is a model that pursues realism in the internal mechanism as well, such as the hammer decocking function.

≪Main features≫

● Accurate engraving: The engraving on the slide, measured from the real thing, creates even more realism.

Decocking system: By lowering the decocking lever, the hammer can be returned from full cock (ready to fire) to half cock (unable to fire).

●SA&DA hammer mechanism: Supports both single action, where the slide must be pulled manually before firing, and double action, where the trigger can be pulled to fire.

●Equipped with underrail: The underrail integrated with the frame can be fitted with a flashlight that is compatible with the Picatinny standard (20mm width).

●Powerful blowback: The slide recoils forcefully at the same time as firing, creating a realistic reproduction of the powerful look and strong recoil at the time of firing.

●Die-cast magazine: Comes with a die-cast magazine that holds 25 rounds and is resistant to cold.

[From the real gun]
The P220, developed as a successor to the P210, was well received, so this automatic pistol was developed in 1980 as an improved version. It is the flagship model that forms the core of the P22x series.

There are no major external differences with the P220, but minor modifications have been made, such as making the magazine double-column to increase the number of rounds, and it is so robust that it can function reliably even after being immersed in water or mud for a long time, making it extremely durable.

In the 1980s, when the US military selected the next official handgun after the M1911, it lost out to the Beretta M92F due to the difference in the offered price (it is said that the lack of a manual safety was a drawback). However, it passed the trial itself, and its high performance was evaluated, so it was later introduced for officers and special forces.

In addition to being used by the US Navy SEALs under the names Mk24 and Mk25, a considerable number are deployed in military and police special forces such as the original German GSG9, the British SAS, and Spain's GEO (National Police Special Operations Group). The NYPD (New York Police Department) has even started to offer the P226 as an option to officers when selecting handguns to be issued to them, other than the Beretta M92FS and Glock 17 that they had been using up until then.
It also seems to be used by the Japanese SAT, and in a training scene released to the media by the National Police Agency, officers were seen instantly switching from an MP5 to this gun and firing. However, due to budgetary constraints, the number of guns is not very large, and it does not seem to be used by local SATs.
Although the selling price on the market is high, some SWAT members and military special forces members who are not satisfied with the government-issued guns sometimes purchase this gun with their own money.
Current models are divided into several clear models such as "X-FIVE" and "XPRESS" based on differences in trigger action, barrel length, frame material, number of rounds, and the presence or absence of adjustable sights. When differences such as caliber and coloring are added to this, the P226 alone becomes a series of several dozen types.
Also, with regard to accessory rails, which are a current trend, there are models that come equipped with them already, and models that allow you to choose whether or not to have them as an option, and so on, depending on the model.
As of 2012, the lineup has been reorganized, and the P226 E2, announced in 2010, has become the standard model of the P226 series. The name has also been dropped from "E2" to simply "P226."
