A world-class semi-automatic sniper rifle developed by H&K in Germany in the 1970s based on the G3. PSG1 stands for Präzisions Scharfschützen Gewehr-1 (Precision Sharpshooter Rifle).

Although the PSG1 has been described as the pinnacle of semi-automatic sniper rifles, it also has its weaknesses. It's too heavy, and while the weight helps stabilize the gun, it makes it difficult to carry for long periods of time. Moreover, it is often said that the manufacturing cost is high because it is composed only of high-precision parts, and the price of one is extremely expensive at 7,000 dollars. Therefore, in 1987, MSG90 was born as a low-priced version of PSG1.

Although there are restrictions on its operation, it is often used by organizations with ample budgets because it has the performance to match it.
