The real gun M29 Classic is a revolver that was produced relatively recently, in name only.

Influenced by its rival Colt Python, S&W also developed the medium-sized L-frame revolvers "M586" and "M686" with full underlugs that extended to the muzzle. The success of these models led to feedback for the large N-frame revolver, the M29 Classic.

It was developed as a controllable revolver that can suppress the jump even with powerful bullets such as the .44 Magnum by providing a full underlug. This model is released as a heavyweight resin gas gun equipped with a powerful bullet velocity and cold-resistant Ver.3 mechanism.
