Many shotguns in the 1860s, the setting of Western movies, had the same number of barrels and number of rounds. Later, single-barrel repeating shotguns appeared. This M1897 was designed by the god of firearms design, John M. Browning, and was an advanced model for the time, incorporating a pump action system, an external hammer, and a tube-type magazine. In addition, the finishing was kept within a practical range for mass adoption, which made it inexpensive, leading to active adoption by the police and military. Its performance was also first-class for a shotgun of that time, and was fully demonstrated when the American army brought it to the trenches in World War I. In order to specialize it for trench warfare, the barrel was shortened, a heat cover was fitted to prevent burns, and it was deployed on the battlefield as a trench weapon specialized for close-combat (trench gun) that could also be fitted with a bayonet. Combined with the Double-O Buck bullets (a shotgun loaded with about nine 8mm iron balls), it struck fear into the German army. Unlike modern shotguns with built-in hammers, the M1897 does not have a disconnector, so it is possible to slam fire (continuous firing can be performed by pumping while holding the trigger), and in close combat. It demonstrated overwhelming stopping power, so much so that it was nicknamed the "trench sweeper." Our model gun, which reproduces this popular M1897, is finally available in a heavy weight model. The body is about 500g heavier than the ABS model, and the resin's unique flexibility is gone, giving it a firm impression. The surface treatment has also been changed to a heavy-weight resin with a rough blast finish. In addition, our specialty wooden stock and fore-end reproduce the color of a well-used gun.
Ver.2 also has improved operability, and has obtained the piercing explosion sound and stable firing power unique to the parallel double-cap gunpowder specification.
The flashy action of the carrier coming to pick up the shell at the same time as the bolt retracts creates a kind of addictive feeling along with the pleasurable mechanical operating sound. Please take a look at this attractive heavy-weight firing model shotgun, which everyone will love once they touch it.
