In 1907, the .32 caliber New Police was created at the request of the New York City Police Department. The "Positive Lock" safety device was incorporated, upgrading it to the Police Positive. Simultaneously, the .38 Special version, the Police Positive Special, was also produced, gaining popularity as a lightweight police revolver. The Police Positive Special, boasting a production record of 750,000 units within the Colt pocket-size series later known as the "D-frame," virtually dominated the US police revolver market in the early 20th century.
According to Colt's catalog at the time, it was described as "the most compact, lightweight, and powerful pocket and house pistol on the market."
This time, we have made extensive modifications to the Police Positive Special, which we previously sold as a model gun, and reborn it as the "R-model," with improved realism, durability, and operability.
The cylinder lock-up problem (a symptom where the timing between trigger movement and cylinder rotation changes) that occurred in the previous model due to the faithful reproduction of the Colt mechanism has been resolved by changing the rebound lever to a robust two-piece structure of pressed and die-cast, preventing deviations in operating timing over the long term.
In addition, a pressed weight has been installed inside the grip, and the exterior has also been modified with anti-reflective grooves on the front and rear sights, and serrations on the front of the trigger, faithfully reproducing the details of the 3rd type from around 1960.
The meshing of other internal parts has also been revised, making this a model that allows you to experience the mechanism of the Colt double-action revolver, which has been around for over 100 years.
The Police Positive Special is considered the perfect form of the small double-action revolver in Colt's history, which has greatly contributed to the evolution of revolvers. This is a superb item that we hope many people, not just model gun enthusiasts, will pick up and enjoy.
